Koalas

The fluffy little grey faunae

Australia- originates from there

The little Aussie wonders

Incorrectly named ‘koala bear’.

Yes, it is the sweet Koala

With fur so soft and grey

They are gentle herbivores

Eucalyptus their only prey.

Eyes so warm and inky

A bulky and black nose

And ears large as tea plates

With sharp nails on the toes.

Soft and gentle they may seem

And indeed; they’re not scary

But they are in the wild after all

So to interfere you must be wary.

Leave them space to themselves

Admire them from quite afar

Or they’ll slash at you with their teeth

Not their apparent soft avatar!

They eat so much eucalyptus

They are perfumed with its oil

The sleep for about 20 hours

About 4 hours of eating toil.

Koala mums too have pouches

To contain joeys- the little ones

No bigger than a jelly bean

And for round a decade grow the sons.

So next time you spy a picture

That makes you exclaim “Awww!”

Keep in mind these curious facts

And be cautious of the claw!

Indian classical Dances

Hello all! We have another school presentation coming up (it’s an assembly) and the topic is Indian Classical Dances. So, I have written a little poem on it. I hope that you will know more about this beautiful art after reading this than you did before. Here goes…

Indian classical Dances

India, such a diverse land
And so vibrant and great
And one clear example is
A dance from each Indian state
You know,Kathak comes from
The parts of Northern India
And from Manipur comes
Manipuri and Thang Ta.
From the state of Kerala
Comes the dance kathakali
Bharatnatyam from Tamil Nadu
And from Odisha, Odissi.
West Bengal’s Chhau Dance
And Gujarat’s lovely Garba
Such a lot of skilful arts
From the culture of India.
We to these dances should
Show respect and care
Now, citizens of India
Of dances we are aware.

Arts And Crafts

Hello!
A few days ago, I learnt how to make some beautiful roses out of paper. Aren’t they awesome? Here they are:
jhil rose jhil rose 2
I made all of them, but the grey one and the black one was made by my sister. I must say, (not being boastful), all of them seem pretty good to me!
Well, anyway, making these roses inspired me to write a short poem about doing crafts work. So… here goes 😀

Are you feeling super bored?
Feel like you are all alone?
Feeling that all interest is gone….
That fun has dried into stone?

Shut up! There’s a lot
For you to do right now
Cause I, the crafts goddess
Have come, down you bow.

Pick up the colour paper
Squeeze the bottle of glue
Snip and snap with scissors
And carry glitter with you!

Bright and lively paints
And a colourful mud sheet
Different kinds of cutters
And a paintbrush so sleek.

Pens cursive and felt-tip
Use stickers, all so bright
And skate with your crayons
Like fireworks through the night!

Make everything turn and twist
Make the paper waltz and dance
Allow sparkle and markers to invade
Tell the crafts to shout and prance!

Because when art chooses to invade
Crafts scream out “COME ON!”
Let joy fly out in colours
All boredom will be gone!
